Some weddings stay with you long after you’ve packed your cameras away.

Taryn and Tim’s wedding was one I’ll never forget.

Every time I scanned the room, there was another moment unfolding. Happy tears. Loving glances. Bursts of laughter. Quiet embraces. Pure excitement for two people so deeply loved by everyone around them.

It was one of those rare wedding days where the emotion never stopped.

As a Wollongong wedding photographer now based in the Illawarra, these are the moments I love most. Beautiful portraits are always important, but it’s the genuine moments—the ones you can’t plan that become the photographs families treasure for generations.

Although this wedding was photographed before I relocated to the South Coast, it perfectly reflects the heartfelt, relaxed approach I now bring to every wedding across Wollongong, the Illawarra, Kiama, Shellharbour and beyond.

A Morning Filled With Love

From the moment I arrived, Taryn and Tim were surrounded by the people who meant the most to them.

The energy was high, the excitement was contagious, and there was this beautiful feeling that everyone couldn’t wait to celebrate these two incredible people.

Taryn was an absolute joy to photograph.

She has such a bright, sparkling personality that made every photograph feel effortless. We created a few gently guided bridal portraits, but the rest of the morning unfolded naturally. Friends laughing together. Family helping with the final touches. Quiet moments of anticipation before everything changed forever.

A First Look I’ll Never Forget

For couples who are incredibly close, I genuinely love a first look.

Instead of spending the morning apart, they get to slow everything down and share one quiet moment together before the celebrations begin.

Tim waited patiently at the top of the terrace.

As Taryn walked up behind him and gently tapped him on the shoulder, the entire atmosphere changed.

The look on Tim’s face as he turned around and saw his beautiful bride is something I’ll never forget.

No posing.

No direction.

Just a completely genuine moment between two people about to promise forever to one another.

During the ceremony, I found myself constantly looking beyond the couple.

Parents wiping away tears.

Friends smiling through emotional vows.

Grandparents watching with pride.

When it came time for portraits, Taryn and Tim made my job easy.

A Reception Filled With Emotion

The celebration carried right through the evening.

There was laughter, incredible speeches, plenty of happy tears and one of my favourite reception ideas, a handwritten letter waiting at every guest’s seat.

Watching each guest open their letter created another wave of genuine emotion throughout the room.

It perfectly reflected who Taryn and Tim are.

Thoughtful.

Completely invested in making every single guest feel loved.
